He has a B.A. in Biblical Studies and a Masters of Theology. He has been leading retreats since 1980. He has completed a program in Spiritual formation and direction at Azusa Pacific University’s Graduate School and a two year program in Spiritual direction at University of San Diego. He has been involved training spiritual directors since 2002 in San Gabriel and San Diego with CFDM. Larry has been married for over 29 years and is the father of four children. He has a varied vocational background, having worked 11 years as a Youth Pastor, 6 years as a Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff, and 10 years as the Pastor of a church in San Diego, CA before leaving to begin b in April 2005. He takes extended retreats himself at least twice a year, meets with a spiritual director monthly and receives personal supervision for his role as a spiritual director. Larry’s desire is to give others the tools and opportunity to experience a growing and deepening relationship with God and thus become the unique Pastor, leader, person God has created them to be. His favorite places are Big Sur and the Grand Tetons. He enjoys racquetball, tennis, bicycling (in his younger days he rode across the United States), juggling, reading, watching movies and being alone in quiet places. His favorite color is blue and he is widely known as a connoisseur of hot dogs and chocolate pudding. Training programs CFDM San Diego offers a 2 year Certificate Program in Christian Formation and Spiritual Direction. Spiritual Direction The San Diego Regional Network of CFDM is composed of men and women who want to be part of the Network and who are already Directors or are in training to be Directors. The CFDM Network is working with graduates of the Certificate Program in Christian Formation & Spiritual Direction offered by CFDM, as well as graduates of other training programs, to provide ongoing supervision, evaluation, referral, and continuing partnership for spiritual directors. Local Events Various events are planned and resources made available by the Network in response to requests and needs in the region - day retreats, group spiritual direction, spiritual formation events, renewal weekends, and seminars.
